The Dolans prefer to spend the bucks on washed up, overpaid hockey & basketball players. Newsday.com is obviously not a priority unfortunately.

That's a Good luck with that one... situation right there charging for online reading.

I used to get it delivered at my old place because of the terrific deal-under $11 for every 5 weeks of daily papers. It was worth it for the circulars/coupons and whatnot.

the layout/design has some decent features, but I just can't get past the brutal color scheme and slow load times. How do you botch something this bad in the year 2009? Brutal.

Cheap offshore labor writing spaghetti code and design by a non-designer are two well-known ways.

If you go to the Newsday homepage, there is a link on the top right side to "Redesign comments." You can take the survey plus write in comments. Let them know how much it stinks. I did.
