[quote=RUBIES77;10131403]SHE WAS PROBABLY A VERY LOVING MOTHER, but with very bad judgement!!!!!! that day.

This is BEYOND very bad judgement-no loving mother murders her kids-which is what she did-not to mention all the others.

Also, in response of the race issue, I think I would have given any woman the benefit of the doubt-regardless of color-that it was medical issue and not drugs. Its a maternal instinct to want to protect them-except in this case. SHe is probably the most hated woman on LI right now!

Yeah she probably is.

From an upstate paper:"Her husband, Daniel Schuler, told police that he and his wife had left the campground in Sullivan County at around 9:30 a.m. July 26. He immediately drove to their West Babylon home while Diane stopped off for breakfast with the kids on the way. Daniel said everything seemed fine when they left the campground, Chiumento said..."

that's odd. Plus, I thought he said he went fishing.

I predicted from the get go; either a problem with the toxicology reports and/or suicide mission. I can not believe the woman from the upstate camp did not notice anything. The litigation is going to be involved. I feel sorry for those poor innocent victims both children and adults. Shame on the media for portraying her as a Mother Teresa. And, of course, I do not buy the fact that her husband did not know either..............very sad.

All because she had to party....great job mom.

I hope she enjoys her special place in HELL.

I think the OWNERS of the CampGround should be liable too!! Not only kids gone, but a father and a son. Disgusting!!!!!! Can anyone verify if the husband was a Nassau County Cop??

Story keeps changing. I'm sure her family and friends knew about her behavior, probably particpated in it themselves. They're keeping mum so as not to get trashed in the media, or sued.

And Rubies77, it sounds like your trying to give her a pass?
When that man threw the baby out the car window in Tampa a few months ago, no one was trying to make excuses for him (nor should they have).

They found the vodka bottle in the car, but as someone else here put it so well, people won't wrap their heads around the fact that she was driving down the Taconic with a bottle in her lap, taking swigs, while children sat terrified in the back of that car.

Let's not forget that she killed six people.

Husband is a security guard at Bethpage State Park.

Why should the campground be held liable? That's like saying a hotel is responsible for the behavior of their guests when they leave for home. Not a chance in the world that that will happen.

I was thinking along the lines of possibly lying to investigators about the condition she was in. ????

I don't see how the campground can be held liable. They aren't a purveyor of drugs and alcohol. Obviously if they supplied the stuff - yes. But I can't see how it's their fault. What are the supposed to do, check on the condition of every driver before they leave the place? Does Holiday Inn do that? Legally they can't be held liable.

There are some interesting news links on the Westchester Forum, particularly accounts from people who just missed her on the Taconic.

Why would they lie, and how would that make them responsible for what she did? Truth is they probably didn't even know.

I can understand wanting to hold someone responsible, that's for sure.
