Default Please give me your opinions about the area by Larkfield Road in South Commack

I'm interested to get some of your opinions on the area in Commack that is borderline Commack/Elwood by Larkfield Road, south of Jericho Turnpike. My husband and I saw a hi ranch house off of Larkfield Road today that we absolutely love but are unsure of the area. I know we like the back streets between Commack Road and Larkfield (South Commack) but we are unsure as to the area right off of Larkfield on the east side with Commack Schools.

I'd love to hear some of your thoughts; if you are familiar with the area.

Thank you in advance.

Nice area. I assume that you are talking about Karen Place, as their are several high ranches available on that block?

If you are worried if it is a "bad" area, it is not. The only downside IMO is that the homes there are closer to each other. I really like Indian Section, Flower Section, and Bird Section. Being that you would be in the Town of Huningto instead of Commack- Town of SMithtown you will have acess to a better library sysem IMO. I live off of Indian Head Road.

Of all those that you mentioned, Dawn, I like the bird section the most.

Tom, yes, I am definitely speaking about Karen Place. I'm just concerned b/c it seems there are a lot of houses for sale on that block. Also, I'm not sure about the area of Elwood around there. Is Elwood a desirable area in general? I know there are nicer sections than south Commack. I haven't been to the bird section yet but am going to an open house there tomorrow. I've heard very nice things about it. I also like the area of Indian Head Road but do not think there are many houses in that area in our price range.

Would you say that this area of South Commack is the least desirable area? I want to make sure prior to buying, we are in a desirable area; in general (does not have to be the most desirable section but I want to make sure it's still somewhat desirable).

If you are buying in Commack I do not think that you have any worries. Commack is a very desirable area. Did you see the house on Pittoni which is in the Valmont Section over across from Sawmill School? It is going for 369,900.

Yes, I have seen this house online before. The reason we are not taking interest in it is b/c it does not have a garage anymore. I'm assuming they turned it into living space and I really want a garage to put my car in.

In my opinion, the area where the hi ranch home is which I was speaking about yesterday, is not the most desirable section. I'd personally rather be further into Commack but the hi ranch home is what is attracting me to this area.

Thank you for all your help. I appreciate it.
