Both Cedarhurst and Long Beach have weekly concerts, as well.

Cedar Beach has free live music nightly. Recently saw The Legendary Hooligans and the place was really rocking.

Exactly. Town of Oyster Bay has them all over the town: Massapequa at Burns, TOBAY Beach, and a few other places in central and north Nassau. I would say it has transformed into more cover type bands in the past few years though probably due to budgets I have seen the Charlie Daniels Band, Marshall Tucker Band and Kansas in the past few years who were all pretty good and I listened from my yard to hear the lead singer from Stix who sounded great. I know the Spin Doctors played Hicksville High school either last year or the year before.

These are usually great, free nights that allow you to get out with the family (with maybe a bottle of wine) and enjoy some music. Yes, not world class entertainment as some have pointed out but it gives you something else to do and is usually a pretty good time. I know Tanner Park (Copaige?) has them too so I imagine they are pretty much all over the Island

We're both correct - I posted this last year, so the dates are for the 2009 shows. The 2010 shows have two left, with Dr. K's MoTown Revue this coming Tuesday. Two weeks after that will be Big Shot, a Billy Joel tribute band.
