Have heard lots of rumors about the Syosset Mobile Home Park. Any one have any "real" info? Looked at a few of the trailers. All well maintained, park seemed nice and quiet. Cant beat the school district. Still looking into possibly moving there.

The land is being sold off, and the people are being kicked out, is the story I heard. There was a Times article about not too long ago which I skimmed, but didn't read.
Do they actually allow (gasp) mobile homes into Nassau county?
Funny, no one wants to do anything about the housing crisis here except erect expensive senior citizen complexes or hold lotteries for houses in scummy parts of the Island.

Although they're highly rated, I don't care for Syosset Schools...
With respect to the mobile home park, I would say that the majority of Syosseteans - even those living in Syosset for many years - don't even know that it exists. That's a good thing of course...

Only the ones that don't care for Italian Ices...or has that been replaced with a Starbucks, or some dreck, too?

Where is this located? I never heard about it. I would like to check it out and see what it is all about.
The times article also mentioned that there was some mobile home park on Staten Island, the only one within NYC's boundaries. This one is not going to be sold off in the near future.
That you might know where I fall ideologically, this poster is a puleoconservative. Even so, I think the lack of both cultural and economic diversity, hurts the student populace. Life is not a fairytale - which isn't to say that privileged people haven't their own struggles. But the lack of contact with people from different backgrounds - be they cultural or economic, can hurt the student, relationally, once he or she enters the workforce.
Onto Syosseteans not knowing about the mobile park, news travels fast - and with respect to the mobile park, no news = good news.
Don't let me dissuade you from moving to Syosset, a clean and manicured town with very little crime. There are no surprises in Syosset; the town is straightforward; it is what it appears to be. Plus, what might be important to me, might not be to you...
