New stores in Lake Grove (construction, building, steel)

Not sure if anyone knows what this is about, but my wife told me that this past Friday, someone put up a huge sign on Middle Country Road in Lake Grove where the new Babies R Us / Toys R Us is being built that said something like "Toys R Us/Babies R Us - How could you hurt our town?" - not the exact text perhaps, but close enough. Does anyone know what this is about? It was taken down at some point later in the day.

Also, at the beginning of Lake Grove at the 5 Corners, I believe they were building a drive-thru Starbucks and they had these steel beams up to frame the building. Then over the course of a few days, it was all dismantled - now there is nothing left at the construction site but a concrete foundation. Does anyone know what happened? I for one am happy that the building was taken down, as it looked way too huge for that area.
