Default What happened to bayville?

we were looking for a place to go for a day trip and saw bayville listed many times.. so we went today. we went down bayville ave and it was soooooooo bad.... looked like most restaurants and stores are gone... the beach was pretty empty and there was nothing to even take pictures of... all in all we were very disapointed ...

Default For those who may not be familiar with Bayville

For those who may not be familiar with Bayville:

Bayville is a village (incorporated in 1919) in the northern part of the Town of Oyster Bay, in the northeast part of Nassau County.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Village of Bayville in the Town of Oyster Bay is bordered on the north by Long Island Sound; on the east by the Village of Centre Island; on the south by the Oyster Bay, Mill Neck Creek and the Village of Mill Neck; and, on the west by the Village of Lattingtown and the Hamlet of Locust Valley.

The Village of Bayville has a different border than does the "Bayville, NY 11709" postal zone (i.e., a place can have a "Bayville, NY 11709" mailing address and not be in the Village of Bayville): places with a "Bayville, NY 11709" mailing address that are not in the Village of Bayville are in the Village of Mill Neck and the Hamlet of Locust Grove.

For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County): http://www.city-data.com/forum/long-...-resource.html

I guess people were sick of going up there with the oppressive police force that targets the road going to there.

Would you rather have a beach packed with people? I prefer empty beaches with no noise.
