I moved to LI to rise my family. I was born and raised in Manhattan. My husband is from Queens and we lived and my kids were born there. We moved to North Shore of Suffolk when they were till very little and lived there for 20 years. We only moved because my husband was out of work.

My older daughter moved to Florida to be near us and lased 4 months. She now lives in Lindenhurst. My younger daughter lived a few years in Queens, but bought a house in Levitown before she married.

It is my goal in llife at age 60 to move back to LI, not just because my kids are there, but I miss it SO MUCH. I miss real TREES. I miss the 4 seasons. I miss knowing your neighbors and the sense of community on LI.

I will move back.

New York Islanders, Long Beach, Fire Island, Italian Food, The food in general - I've traveled across the country and boy are we lucky here... We are also lucky to have the LIRR which brings us to one of the most recognized cities in the world. Oh and the New York Islanders. And the New York Islanders.

That is so funny you say Long Beach...I have got to be the only person on this whole island who hates Long Beach, lol. Sooo far from everything, ghetto, beach filled with trash, nightlife consists of 16 year olds with fake ID's...sorry, I don't really see the appeal.

well I live there and it's everything but what you said. I don't live in the west end where I guess all that stuff happens. It's not a ghetto.. when was the last time you were actually there? lol
The weather in Long Beach is 10 degrees cooler in the summer, 10 degrees warmer in the winter. We have the beach, boardwalk, 3 free concerts a week on the sand, a real community, great places to eat. sorry you feel that way, but I just don't see it the same way as you. I am 4 blocks from the boardwalk and beach and I feel extremely lucky to live there. I ride my bike on the boardwalk and I feel like I'm in California.

you know what. Do Long Beach a favor and please never visit. We actually don't want more people there. It's one of the best kept secrets on Long Island and we want to keep it that way. Too bad they are building a 5-star hotel down the block from me because it's getting gentrified, but yeah,
please do us in long beach a favor and never visit us.
