What can you tell me about rocky point/ sound beach area? (Bay Shore: first time home buyer, buyer)

Hi ,
Im a first time home buyer and I am interested in the rocky point/ sound beach area. Last night we looked at houses on dogwood and some off of king rd west of broadway. I really liked the area, there was a concert going on in town which I thought was cool. Any thoughts of these areas?

Im a long time resident and we love it.
Rocky Point is arguably the best bang for the buck on the North Shore.

Good Schools/Reasonable Taxes/Miles of Beachfront/5000 Acre Nature Preserve/Great community spirit and only 60 mi from NYC and Montauk

How is the commute? I go to Islandia everyday and my boyfriend commutes to bayshore. He is worried it might be to far. What is the best way to the LIE ?

Listen, its a good little working class town with some high end stuff on the water.
Nothin too fancy....locals dig it.

If you go to Eastern RP youre a stones throw from the Billy Floyd (Exit 68)
Thats the fastest way to the LIE/South ...Bay Shores not too far (about 40 min)

Look down by the water near Friendship beach, its very nice and affordable.
