Default Buses removed from East Hampton Village

Effective, Tuesday, September 1, 2009,
S92 buses will no longer stop on Newtown Lane and Main St
in the Village of East Hampton.

All S92 trips in the Village of East Hampton
will begin and end at the East Hampton Railroad Station.

All bus connections for the S92, 10B and 10C
will be made at the East Hampton Railroad Station

East Hampton News - School officials want county bus stop moved - 27east

Recently in East Hampton, S92 bus service was removed from Main street and Newtown street, the main commercial areas of the village.
Now the only bus stop is at the East Hampton LIRR station, which is a bit of a walk for anyone elderly or disabled needing groceries in Waldbaums or any other goods in the village.
The article below (which was published before the bus stop change) indicates that it was done for the "safety of the school children".
But I think we all know the real reasons. If you use 'em, deal with 'em!
