Oakdale, Long Island
Can you please advise how life is in this town? We are currently exploring Suffolk county areas to move to. We were interested in Suffolk County towns that are walkable.
Thanks.

I lived in oakdale for about 10 years. its doesn't have much industry or retail. there are a few stores on montauk hwy & a few others on sunrise hwy, but its not a great "walkable" town. sayville might be better, because there is a mainstreet & many more stores. both are lovely family towns

My husband and I moved to Sayville because we did not want to live in malls only. I walk the town of Sayville every week. There is alway parking behing the stores. The town has great street events often. Check out the website.

Better yet----
6 minutes from the beach.
I dont know what you budget, but look at Craigslist Long Island.
There is someone selling a great house- he is relocating quickly and
is willing to hear all offers.
4 br 2 bath asking 599k but will hear all offers., 2 car-
almost all new. cell- 917-560-0430 it is in the Hidden Harbor section of Seaford- real nice house.
Take care,
Amy

Is the arboretum still in Oakdale? That's a great place (or was) to do some walking!
