seems not many two family house at FS.

How do I know which elemary school my kid will go to if I find a house? I found there are several public schools shown on the map related to a house, but does that mean you can go to either one? if not, is there a website that I can type in specific location and find out what PS my kid will go to within certain radius of my house?

Unless the district line runs through your property you can only be zoned for one PS district and one elementary. middle and HS within that district. Don't go by the realtor. Find another resource. I'm not comfortable enough to recommend one in case I'm wrong. Try calling the nearest school districts cental office.

If we don't live inside the village of Floral Park, which elementary school should my kid go to
FP bellrose elementary school, John lewis Child's school, or PS 191 Mayflower school?
Suppose the location is at little neck pky and 85th Street(11001, not village)?

by the way, what is the Queens and Nassau boundary? ANYONE WHO HAVE SUCH MAP, CAN YOU POST IT HERE? THANK YOU!

LNP and 85th Ave is Queens, kid is going to NYC PS

The dividing line is grossly Langdale Street, although it zig zags a bit by a few blocks at times. Hint if you see an address with a "-" in it like 83-39 it is Queens. Also if you see cheap property taxes (under 4K) its Queens.

Floral Park Queens goes to NYC schools
Floral Park South goes to Elmont schools
Floral Park Crest goes to Elmont schools

Thanks guys!
Anyone know about Williston Park, NY? Greatschools.net show Center Street ES has 40% of asian. Are they indians? How is the public school compared with NHP, Floral Park, Mineola, Franklin Square? How is the Harricks SD#9 in general?

Default For those who may not be familiar with Williston Park

Emilyclouds, the geography of Williston Park, too, can be quite confusing because most of the places that have a "Williston Park, NY 11596" mailing address (933 acres) are not in the Village of Williston Park (390 acres).

For those who may not be familiar with Williston Park:

Williston Park is a village (incorporated in 1926) in the center-south part of the Town of North Hempstead, in the west part of Nassau County.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Village of Williston Park in the Town of North Hempstead is bordered on the north by the Hamlet of Albertson; on the east by the Village of East Williston; on the south by the Village of Mineola; and, on the west by the Hamlet of Herricks.

Williston Park is one of those villages and hamlets on Long Island where most of the places with the community name in their mailing address are not in the village: places that have a "Williston Park, NY 11596" mailing address that are not in the Village of Williston Park are in the Village of East Williston, the Hamlet of Roslyn Heights and the Village of Mineola.

For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County): http://www.city-data.com/forum/long-...-resource.html

Herricks is the best of the lot. Yes there are plenty of Asians and "Indians" there.

FP/FS/NHP schools are pretty similar, closely followed by Mineola.

I wouldn't be concerned about any of these districts as being bad.

Williston Park is a really nice village. Tree lined, many colonial homes. Reminds me of west end of Floral Park Village.
New Hyde Park has a small village area. Northern NHP is fancier, some homes go to Great Neck south schools
Franklin Square is unicorporated. No village control. Many more illegal apartments than FP or WP Northern FS is considered more desirable (next to Stewart Manor, under Garden City) Also consider Garden City South which is basically Franklin Square East (goes to FS schools and can't do ANYTHING in GC)

Mineola more restaurants, LIRR station is a main hub

Take a ride going through each area. FP/NHP/FS are next to each other. Take a ride around Jericho Tpke, down Covert Ave, Tulip Ave, Hempstead Tpke, and observe.
