Unhappy Northport Drug Problem

i have a cousin who lives in northport, ny and is addicted to prescription pill oxycontin. I did some research on northport and it has one of the highest number of residents in drug rehab in suffolk county. When i was growing up i thought of northport as a nice rich town with no crime, why is it so different from what i thought?

Funny when I was in HS in the 80s Northport had a reputation as a druggie town. Different drugs then, I'm thinking.

ANOTHER interesting first post!

Well I guess it all depends on where you think you are... Northport, NY 11768 is a different beast than the Village of Northport. Where exactly does your cousin live, and which designation did your research make use of? Don't make me unleash Walter on you.

I went to Northport High School , and it is an affluent school district , this makes it easy for kids to get drugs because of the disposable income they have. The school now has a Drug and Alcohol Task force that is slowly but surely reducing the number of children on drugs.
