Samyn,

I'm sure the residents of South Jamaica had it bad last night, but again, they live near the airport. By the way, where do you get that ATC information from online? It would be handy to have.

Believe it or not, the 7 degrees of difference is a Godsend for us. Given our distance from the airport, the 7 degree angle means that the planes pass about a mile to our west. I can barely hear them at that point since they are going over Floral Park at that juncture.

Even a hypothetical difference of 4 degrees would help. That would mean they are over a half mile away. The difference in sound from having a 747's engines right over you at 1,900 feet versus having the engines a half mile away is very significant.

Default It is your choice.

YouTube - Very low flying jumbo jet over Roosevelt Field!
If you've chosen to remain someplace despite the fact that you think living there is miserable, that is your choice. Enjoy your choice.

I for one will use my time and efforts addressing matters that are more difficult to solve.

Well tonight we are getting pounded. Screaming jet engines every 2 minutes since I got home at 8pm.

John...this may come as a surprise, but...NOBODY CARES. We get it. You're fed up with the noise. Continuing to post about it isn't going to changed a damned thing.

I live less then a 1/2 mile from you. I had a quite evening reading with my wife. No planes "pounding" on me

Buy a white noise player, get over it, or move? Not much use complaining about the same thing on here over and over. No one reading it can do anything about it.

Nope...no Jet noise in Rocky Point.

Just the gentle hush of the waves, the wind blowing through the pine barrens and the occasional annoying Helicopter en route to the Hamptons.
( I hate those bastards)

Hows by you? I hear Westburys getting POUNDED tonight.
