Hi,

I need to order home heating oil, saw from Discount-fuel that for 200 gallons it's $2.04 per gallon. Just wanted to find out if any one got better price then this.

Also, on the burner I need to do tune-up. Please advise if you know any good comapny and how much you paid for that.

Thanks.

I haven't priced oil since July, but 2.04 a gallon does sound pretty good. Excellent compared to over 4.00 from 2 years ago.

I have a service contract with Ben Oil in Lindenhurst. It's about 190 a year, and it includes a yearly tune up. Fortunately that's the only service I've needed. According to my parents, if you need them, they will come.

Sorry Mike, I need to learn to read. Does that service contract cover parts also? Thanks.

The wholesale price of heating oil closed today (Friday, October 2) at $1.79-68/100 a gallon, off 3.06¢ a gallon.

Heating Oil futures prices will allow you to leasily monitor the heating oil regular session futures prices on the New York Mercantile Exchange (because these prices are available at no charge, they come with a 30-minute delay).

We paid $2.09 for 150 gallons from Avalon Fuel last week.

We use a plumber to clean our furnace every year. He charges $50.

We [stupidly] signed a contract with Petro last year. Got screwed when prices came down drastically and ended up having to pay $299 to break the contract.

With a 4 year old furnace - I'll take my chances with C.O.D. and no service contract for awhile.

I use a man from Setauket to clean/tune up my burner annually. If you are located nearby, send me a DM and I will forward his name/number.

We use Johns fuel in Holtsville. We have never had a problem with them. Dont knowhow much the service contract is, but its worth it.
