In general, How long does it take to get a Real Estate License in NY State? Thanks!!
you sign up for a class, study hard, take the local test and pass. Then you take the State test and voila, if you pass, you have the license which has to be held by a licensed broker. But that's only the beginning
you're probably right...its definitely unnecessary spending. There are no upfront costs...so we are jjust wondering how the licensing process worked to decide it it's all worth getting into.
She should keep in mind, too, the minimum ongoing costs to be a real estate agent. Her broker will reequire her to join Long Island Board of Realtors (about $400 per year) and pay for errors and ommissions insurance (about $300 - $400 per year).
