Thats the heart of the Hamptons.

Id say from Speonk to Montauk theres plenty to do.

Check out Sag Harbor, Easthampton, Montauk Lighthouse,Jackson Pollock House...maybe grab a ferry to the North Fork for the Wineries and Pumpkin picking.

Great time of year to come.

Youll love it.

Yes, the Village of Southampton in the Town of Southampton is in the "Hamptons".

http://www.city-data.com/forum/new-y...-glossary.html may be of some help to you in understanding the geography of "Lawn Guyland".

The Hamptons provides more info about the "Hamptons".

Note: the word 'township' in the linked Wikipedia article about the "Hamptons" should be 'town'.

Enjoy a walk in Southampton village or Sag Harbor or Bridgehampton or East Hampton Village. Go to some fine dining establishments (bring $). I think the ocean is too cold to swim, but go see it, it's really big. Not much happening on weekdays, but still crowded on weekends. Buy and eat some local corn, go pumpkin hunting at Pumpkinland (between Southampton Village and Water Mill). Go out on a fishing boat in Montauk. Obey all traffic laws, use turn signals, make full stops and don't drive while on your cell phone. Enjoy!

I'd say Westhampton Beach is part of the Hamptons. Walk around Main street, walk to the water, or ride bikes.

Yes the ocean is really big, lolol!

You can also go celebrity home hunting in Quoque, if you like that sort of thing.

Bring/Rent bikes and take a ride

You can also go horsebackriding

Visit the art galleries

Visit the museums in East Hampton and Sag Harbor

Go fishing

Take a ferry ride from Montauk although I don't know what ferries are still running at this time of year

Westhampton Beach isn't as nice as Southhampton, IMO...as far as a town/main street goes...but check out the houses on dune road. The MTV beachhouse a few summers ago was based out of a house on that street...East Quogue.
