The snapshot you posted is the heart of equestrian country in Ridge, very pretty and rural looking back in those streets, lots of deer, turkey & other wildlife. IMO after Panamoka its the nicest part of Ridge.

Actually, Ridge was at the top of the foreclosure lists in the 1990's as Grumman started laying off all of the Calverton employees. So many of the people that lived here year round at that time were affected directly or indirectly by that. In the 1980's some neighborhoods including Panamoka didn't even have paved roads yet and most people didn't even have mortgages because they were summer homes purchased during the 1940 & 50's. The homes that were built in the 1980's (like mine, 1987 actually) were built during that building boom and bust that affected every area of LI just as the current boom/bust is affecting us all now. If you've got literature to prove otherwise, I'd love to see it. My neighbor has owned the pizza place of Rt. 25 for 30 years, stop and talk to him sometime about how this little modest town has survived some rough times.
