And you have the General Tax Levy ($4,673). However, in the General Tax Levy, it is NOT just the county taxes. You pay the county taxes, as well as the Town of Hempstead taxes. Two COMPLETELY different jurisdictions, but you pay it together.

Bottomline...it's TOO MUCH in taxes...and the year over year increase is ridiculous....

Some of these contracts are just insane, the fact that 2/3 of the Nassau County portion of the property taxes go towards the police show the stranglehold some of these deals (many of which struck during the Gullotta days) have on our budget.
What you think, feel, or believe on this issue is irrelevant. There is a legal and binding labor agreement in place that gave Belesi his entitlements upon retirement. Period. And you still don't understand either accrued time payouts or disability pensions.

I had gone to a show Curtains in Smithtown last summer (at that little theatre) and who was a featured player but Patrick Vecchio. I was surprised to see him in that venue. He did seem a little frail, though.
