Default LIPA Power Outages

Hi all,

Lately my house has been experiencing more power "blips" so to speak than normal...the entire house shuts down for an instant and immediately comes back. Happened last night when one of my favorite shows was getting recorded on the DVR! The outage is so brief that the clocks do not get affected, but by TV and DVR reset, and my computer totally turns off. I am worried about the abuse the electronics are receiving.

I am not sure if this is a LIPA problem or something in my own house, i.e. the circuit breaker box. Has anyone had problems like this recently, particularly around the Lake Grove area?

Thanks for any advice...

Maybe a loose connection outside blowing in the wind??? Just a thought. I would give lipa a call and have them send someone out to check your service connection.

Thanks for the tip. I did call LIPA and someone came out to look. They called the office and they confirmed there was a power spike last night around the time I had the issue. They said this "just happens" and there is nothing that can be done about it. At least it's not a problem with my internal wiring.

You sure you didn't see anything in the sky at that point in time?
