I used to live in Strathmore. Matter of fact, I lived directly across the street from that Jewish kid that burned a cross on the neighbors lawn back in the mid-90's (Tyburn). That one confused us all.
Must be the Three Village Education the kid received.

Not that uncommon anymore. The initial listing price often reflects the sellers' opinion/hopes of market price with the understanding that if there is no interest/traffic the price gets lowered to one which more accurately reflects current market conditions...

Try to find out if there are any closed dumpsites before moving to Long Island or any new area. Two good websites for listings are People Investigating Toxic Sites and Jonathan Campbell Superfund Sites
