Can you name a city, town or village where the administration is NOT corrupt?
.
.
In a posting to http://www.city-data.com/forum/long-...t-mineola.html, gatesavegrl writes, "The adminstration is corrupt." to which suzook replies, "LOL, tell me a place where the administration is NOT corrupt???????"
Well, folks, can you name a city, town (refers to a major muncipality, such as the Town of North Hempstead) or village where the administration is NOT corrupt?
.

Walter, it depends on your definition of "corrupt", any politician by trade has to lie, that's just a matter of fact we have to live with, if by "corrupt" you mean high treason, wasting millions of taxpayer money only, and appointing a cousin to a cushy job can be overlooked, then we might be able to find a few village/town/county/city/state admins that are relatively "benign"

I never believed that Babylon Village was particularly corrupt. You can actually call the mayor at home to discuss things that bother you.

brassbin, that's a sad state of affairs, and our villages, towns, cities, counties, states, country and all of us, individually, are in deep trouble, if it is true that "any politician by trade has to lie".

That is something which is new here, but virtually every other county in the region has had that for many years.

The answer is that there are NONE.
Why? Because by definition, the political and administrative makeup and setup of Long Island was bred for corruption. The reason so many different layers of government were built was to create and foster a system of bribes, kickbacks, nepotism, and political offices which were nothing more than a salary and benefit package for someone.
The LI political system itself is corrupt by definition and by its very nature. Even if all of the politicians on Long Island suddenly became Angels, they would still be part of an inefficient political maze that fleeces taxpayers.
The amount of money we pay in taxes relative to the services we receive is nothing short of theft.
