Smart move on the trade up. Kudo’s to you.

OP, think it through and plan for the minimum. If you and your wife decided this is what you want. Do it and don’t let anyone talk you out of it.

Don’t be scared about the numbers and probably regret doing it many many times. When you are young you can do this. Determination and a willing attitude, work will not be hard to find.

Live your dream.

There is nothing here to get anymore, you have to go everywhere else now...

What is so great here now....the shopping? Or the tracking of the child molesters living here in great numbers...
Long island lost everything it was....Everything it had to make it great...all gone...
Now it is just a land of imbecile voters, slowly killing themselves...

To the OP, i moved to Long Island becuase it was the Land of motorsports, and that drew all kinds of wonderful things here...
As the motorsports was pushed out for insane reasoning mostly all the other wonderful things left with it....
Now im stuck here, and if not for this damn business i have, OP i would be gone....it is unfortunately an anchor, anchoring me here...people here are retarded, they vote for jackasses that in turn do as they please....or do NOTHING at all....

Let this island die, and hopefully all the idiots stay and not move somewhere else and ruin that......don't come here...
land of motorsports? when was this?

you forgot to mention the beach.

I don't recall motorsports ever being popular here. I don't know a single person who likes that stuff. Nascar? Go down south, it's HUGE there.

the TV ratings (and all of the NASCAR related stickers and paraphenilia I see on the road) suggest NASCAR is pretty big around here as well.

Not everyone has trouble with financials here. There are plenty of people who do just fine.

Nothing like trading up when you just lost $15K in equity, not to mention the whole down payment you put down on the house.
I'm sure she's thrilled.

Im sure she is thrilled.

Upgrading to a bigger home in this market, a well thought plan is not enough. It takes years of financial discipline to build-up to today's downpayment and credit history. Most importantly, courage when others frown.

15k is a small price for big dreams. I wouldnt be surprised the extra rooms will be filled.. say in 9 months.

Actually, I have fond memories of the Bridgehampton racetrack and the smell of burning motor oil and rubber on the track

She's been wanting to get out of the condo and move to a house for a long time so I am sure she is very happy. Maybe the house she is moving to would have been much more expensive if the market was at the point right now where she wouldn't have taken a loss on the condo so it possibly evens out anyway.

Congrats to LIgirl74!
