Walter you are cracking me up.....hmmm lets see, by my observations of your posts in just the past 2 - hour period, I am thinking that the correct answer to that question would be....the Hamlet of Oyster Bay...but I defer to your expertise for facts such as these... .

Since Oyster Bay is a hamlet in the Town of Oyster Bay, not in the Town of North Hempstead, if a town did indeed cut down trees on Main Street in the Hamlet of Oyster Bay, then that town would've been the Town of Oyster Bay and not the Town of North Hempstead.
http://www.city-data.com/forum/new-y...-glossary.html may be of some help to you in understanding the geography of "Lawn Guyland".

Smash255 - In a previous thread you indicated you have access to voting data. I am considering the village of Rockville Centre. Might you have any voting records on this community, or point me in the right direction? Many thanks in advance.

Just saw this thread now. As far as I know Rockville Centre is fairly Republican. Its late now, but if I have a chance tomorrow between the Giant game and Yankee game I will try and run the data for you. I will only be able to provide an accurate picture of the 2000 data, as portions of Rockville Centre saw their voting precinct names/numbers change and the data I have regarding the precinct names/numbers in Rockville Centre are based on what they were in 2000.

Giants pissing me off so went through it now.
Have the data for 2000, and I'm pretty sure I have the correct data from 2008 as well. In 2000 all of Rockville Centre's precincts were in the 21st Assembly District between election districts 42 and 63. Redistricting moved Rockville Centre into the 14th Assembly District. Taking a look at the districts and numbers it looks very likely that the election districts despite now in the 14th Assembly district instead of the 21st kept the numbers 42 to 63. I can't confirm this the way I can the 2000 districts, but it looks correct.
Anyway in 2000 Gore won Rockville Centre 50.22 to 45.89. 22 precincts in the district, split exactly 11 to 11. Two of the precincts were heavily Democratic.
In 2008 McCain won Rockville Centre 50.39 to 48.86. 12 Precincts won by McCain 10 by Obama, again two were heavily Democratic.
