I had to switch to mercury because of a trampoline. They are the only company that I know of that will allow a trampoline but you have to sign a waiver. My kids love the trampoline so I ended up paying the difference. I have no idea how they even knew I had a trampoline but they somehow did. I never let anyone in my backyard.

Noah found Mercury for me actually. I can't comment Mercury because I haven't had a claim and only had them for 3 months. But Noah is very helpful. And hey Noah! This is so weird. I didn't know you were on this site.

Me & my fiancé just closed on our house in Nov '09.

We went with Mercury. They seemed to cover everything we were looking.
House is 1700sq ft 3br, 3bth in Franklin Square. We paid $957 for the year.

We also recieve a discount for our home alarm system. I believe it's 10%.

Mercury has an excellent Homeowners insurance product. Rancho Simi Insurance 888-581-2128

California Homeowners Policy Features:
Coverage A Dwelling has 150% extended replacement cost, 100% Building code upgrade, Higher sub-limits then other carriers home policy.

Consumer watch dog blog can't be trusted. He has a personal issues against a select few insurance companies. Mercury is actually on Forbes most trustworthy company list.

I have Mercury Insurance I live in California they are big out here. I have it on my car and home. I have never had to use it but if you are late on your payment they will want full amount or cancel you. I just found that out today. I have had them for 20 years on my car and about five years on my house. I am looking around right now. If having insurance with them for 20 years and they will cancel because I am 10 days late on a homeowner payment I think I can do better and so can everyone else.

I have homeowners with them. Not bad. Premium is low, but keep in mind, some parts of claims are based on a percentage of your policy vs. a dollar amount.

Read the prints. I haven't had any issues. Only been with them for a year.

Unless you're totally tree-covered Google Earth/Google Maps will show it via satellite photo.
