I think your boys will be fine. Before high school, it is not all that difficult to adapt. If you change states while in high school, it can be tough because the academic requirements can be different from state to state, the curriculum order can be different, and that affects college. In addition, there are more problems with cliques in high school. I personally think it is easier for boys to make new friends than for girls. On the other hand, some people claim that the schools in the southwest are not as "good," but that can be very subjective. IMO, the schools in Las Vegas for instance, are pretty crummy by comparison to Long Island, but I don't know what it is like in this particular part of AZ. I would imagine that upscale areas in AZ also have very good schools.

NY school system, please darling don't fool yourself. it's not what has been made out to be. in fact, i am pretty much shocked at how bad schools are compared to what we pay for. i feel like you're not willing to leave and will find any excuses not to. if you want to move ahead in life you need to live somewhere where you can afford it, get a job, and show your sons how to become productive members of society. child support ends when they turn 18. what then? a resume showing stay-at-home mom for 18+ years will not get you anything.
weather is hot how do people in arizona deal with it then? i heard there are people who live there not just lizards
your kids will adjust fine, especially if you don't carry the whole 'i am a new yorker title with you.'

I agree with you vlorak, we pay too much for what we get but what about all the surveys and statistics that are out saying LI schools are so good. I know NY is not in the top 5 but we are up there. I am planning to get back in the airlines but its there crazy hrs that have been the biggest hurdle for me. Im trying to figure out a way to get back before its too late. Ive lived in different states so no, I dont have that new york attitude...I just need to get some confidence in me...thanks..
