Default Hotel Recommendation near Port Washington

We'll be going for a weekend and was wondering where a good place to stay near Port Washington would be. We'll be flying into LaGuardia.... Expedia only shows me places close to the airport and NYC proper. Thank you!

There really isn't anything THAT close to PW. PW is not what you'd call a center of commerce; most of the chain hotels are in Garden City/Uniondale, Melville and I think there is a Residence Inn in Syosset. Garden City is probably your best bet, it's about 20 minutes from PW with no traffic.

When my relatives come to visit they always stay at the Executive Inn in Woodbury. It's very well kept, you get free breakfast and the prices are affordable (about $100-120 per night), cheaper during the week and with an AAA discount.

Thanks for the suggestions. I should have been more clear - I was hoping to find something a little less chain-ish, and a little more interesting - the reason for getting away from the airport. Thanks again!

There is a very nice hotel next to the George Washington Inn in Downtown Roslyn....about a 7 minute drive from Port Washington....... Many newlywed families stay there overnight as Roslyn has a few places to get married. I forget the name, but just call the GWI and they will tell you
