Oneonta is not so much anymore. The academics have improved. When I went there you needed only an 80 average to get in. Now it's up to the 90's.
They ahve cracked down big-time on the bars and the underage. A lot of bars were shut down due to letting in underagers. It's nothing now like how it was when I was there.

There was a PhD student this summer overseeing chem recitation who should have never been allowed loose inside this type of class. His English was fine. The rest of his brain was the problem.

Went there today for the first time in 29 years. It is a beautiful campus now. When I was an undergrad, they used to move the fences and the mud puddles daily. Attended a physics colloquium and was surprised that I actually understood it! I guess it's like riding a bicycle. No longer any parking problems, one building fits all, and it is pretty cheap. Lots of foreign students, but those are the achievers!

I graduated from stony about 7 years ago. I loved the school, people do party but it's not out of control. very competitive so students need to study and keep on top of the work. most ppl do go home for the weekend if they live in queens/ or on LI

Stunning changes. I could not believe it was the same horrible campus I had last seen in 1984.

It pretty much stayed that way..and got worse..until around 1997 or so, when they started to turn it around. The whole place was crumbling when I went there in the early 90's.

The Fountain is shut down sometime about now (if not already) and is turned on in early May. It was a very big day on campus and many events were planned around it. The last time I was there was 1983, I can only guess much has changed.

OMG...I never thought of myself as a townie! LOL I didn't receive the official "How to be a Townie for Dummies" book!
I think I'll pass on G-fest. I don't want to be the old broad on campus!
