Cesspool Service Recommendations (East Northport, Northport: buying a house, buying, home inspector)

We're buying a house with a cesspool and have never had one before. We want to get it checked out and pumped/aerated before we move in. Can anyone recommend a good company who would do this. I'm not sure if you have to contact a local one or if any service in Suffolk would come to our house. We're moving to East Northport. Thanks!

how old is the house and is it the original cesspool? Any of the larger companies will come out to you regardless of distance. Just make sure they give it a thorough inspection because if the cesspool is very old pumping could cause a collapse.

As far as I know the cesspool is original to the house so it's about 35-40 years old. Our home inspector said it's probably a precast, which I was told was better. Is there any way to know?

If is is precast you should be okay to pump it. Some of the really old cesspools were made out of hand laid block and they have a tendency to collapse when put under pressure. I would just make sure to use a reputable company that will take the proper precautions.
