Why make another thread about this? You already have it in your other thread.

Just want to share the latest statistics with all who post here.

Many people would like to know these statistics.

These are the latest numbers from the New York State Department of Education for the 2006-2007 school year.

I welcome your analysis, comments and questions about the changing demographics in School Districts on Long Island.

Just shows how diverse my school is.

Valley Stream Central 42.5%

But I wouldn't know why, somebody would want to know how white there school is. I thought people moved to Long Island for the culture, and that culture is a big melting pot. Guess I was wrong.

I am reopening this thread, but PLEASE try to keep it civil. This is really not the place for controversies about race and all. The other thread on this same topic was so full of hatred and bitterness that I did believe that it needed to be closed. This one is still relatively calm. There are other forums on this same site where there are political and social discussions, though. Some of you might want to try these. Thanks for your understanding .

I have some close Korean friends who moved to Garden City a few years ago. Their children have not been harrassed or anything like that but the kids and the parents are dismayed over the lack of diversity. They will be putting their house up for rent and moving to another, more diverse school district. I have emailed them this thread...believe me this info is useful for many!!!
