This happened to me ,found out it was a neighbor .My house was up for sale and he made an offer to the realtor which was 50,000 below our asking price and he was upset the realtor said no way. Was his way of paying us back. Maybe you purchased my old house...lol. He even let the air out of the tires so we basically would have a car that looked abandoned in front of the houe. ...lots of weirdos out there.My other neighbor saw him finally move it early one morning and he put it in his backyard.It was there 3 months.

What a prick! Now there's an instance where I would have taken off both the license plates on that car and destroyed them and then called the authorities to tow away the "abandoned car."

I'm surprised you would break the law to get a legally parked vehicle removed.
