My husband and I just purchased a house in Merrick. The windows are the original and we need to have them replaced. So far we went to Unified and Tri-State. Tri-State was significantly more expensive. We are also going to try Alpha and Royal. I was reading some previous posts saying that they did not like Unified. I was wondering if someone could please provide me with more information about them and why they didn't like them. We are first time homebuyers and are trying to find out as much information as we can.
We just had Tri State Installed, great windows, but a real pain in the neck with the product being delivered on time and service.
The installers were great, neat and professional. We are happy with the windows and they offer "art glass" which are really nice but added to the delivery headache.
We cancelled their sliding glass patio door once I found out they do not make it and their contract states they do not warranty anything they do not make.
So we went with our original choice and ordered a sliding glass patio door from Alpha which they make. The door is very heavy, sturdy and comes with a 40 year parts, 10 year warranty.
