Where are the nicer affordable Condo/Townhouse communities in Suffolk?
I know someone from work whos looking to Relo to Suffolk.
Wants maintenance free, has kids...so schools and kid friendly matter.
Im not a fan but its what he has in SoCal.
Doensent need or care about the City..not interested in Nassau.
It seems like most of the stock in Suffolk is in the crappier SDs?
If you have some links please post them.
Thanks,
Crooks

My parents used to live in a townhouse in Commack - right off Sunken Meadow...on Indian Head Rd. Pool and tennis court. Not a lot of kids though, and not sure how many kids he has but outside the Master BR, the BRs are small. Maintenance is a bit pricey, but they just re-roofed the development and fixed the tennis court, pool is in good shape. Good, central location. Commack schools are supposed to be pretty good I think. It's on the Smithtown Town side of Commack.

Depends on what you mean by "nicer" and "affordable". I'd say most of the newer town homes..that are affordable..are indeed in mediocre to bad school districts.
Then there are the older condo places that are very affordable (birchwood, Nob Hill), in decent school districts (Sachem, Connetquot) but "nicer" is a stretch as they are old old old and they are basically apartments. But $2,000 a year in taxes on LI is dirt cheap.

"Affordable" is a relative term. Around here, I like Hidden Ponds in Commack. Not cheap, but not overly expensive either.

Here's one in Bayport/Bluepoint SD MLS # 2244858..quite nice...10K in taxes, though. Ouch. Common charges $449 per month.
The ones in Commack are 10K in taxes also.
