Question on Coram
How is Westfield road (and surrounding area) in Coram? I know south of 25 is not good. But not too familiar with this part.

Out of curiosity why not Mt Sinai/Miller Place/Rocky Point?
If you can afford Northern Coram you can get a better value to the north.
Do you have family nearby?

Was curious as I saw a house in that area and the house looked nice.
As for Mt Sinai/Miller Place/Rocky Point, I'm trying to not go that far east or north.

Shame on you Bob, the W section has been discussed to death and i'm a casual participant here!
Some people do like singing the same tune though.
Coram is much more accessible than Mt Sinai, Miller Place and much more west than Rocky Point. Taxes are also much, much lower (RP the exception-taxes are not too bad). It's a generally good place to live with some exceptional deals. You can buy a lot of house for the money in Coram.
Of course, It has a tremendous gang/drug/violence/safe-house/black/hispanic/drug rehab/fill-in-the-blank problem.

LOL, Oh I know about the W section. Like I said, I saw a house listed in that area and I haven't driven through there, so I just wanted to know if anyone knew about that section.
And yes I know of the problems there. What town doesn't have a problem.
Heck Commack schools are good, and now there is a gym teacher that is in trouble because of extra curricular activities with a student.
No matter what school district/town, they all have their share of problems.

No that would be false. The towns are not much frurther than Norther Coram.
In fact Southern MP/MS may be just as close to the LIE.
Taxes in Northern Coram are VERY high considering the Schools size and performance.
You can buy just as much house in parts of MS MP and RP with good schools and possibly lower taxes too.
Theres really nothing too compelling about Coram except that the Northern Part borders Mt Sinai and the W section looks like Strathmore SB. Southern Coram speaks for itself.
If you want Longwood...Hows about Ridge.
Im just curious about what you liked.
Corams not all bad....its just not that compelling.
Why do you think everyones selling ; ).
FWIW really do your DD on the other Coram
(AKA the parents of the other kids on the bus.)
It may be cause for pause.

Westfield is NOT in the W section. It is on the border of middle island off Middle country rd.Taxes in Coram are okay but not fantastic.I would not suggest this part of Coram. If you take middle country and view the people that hang out at the 7 eleven right on the corner of westfield you'll understand why.Too close to social service and the heights.Considering how prices have changed i'd suggest rocky point, sound beach, miller place, and selden and other towns before this.Other parts of Coram by the real W section would be a better idea too.
