Yeah, New York City. Get on the train. It's a completely different world in Brooklyn and Manhattan..it's hard finding someone who ISN'T in a band in some neighborhoods.
Ever been to Nashville? It makes NYC look like a musicians wasteland. Half my friends from the Island and Cali headed there because that seems to be the center of the music universe. And not just country.
Yeah, the only way to contact people through that site is to pay a monthly fee.
No they do it for free too, look further into it.They do have advanced searches and pay services but I can tell you that a day after I registered,I had 3 people contact me.Within a week I was by macarthur airport doing studio time at Dynamic.
Hey jak0lantern01,
Next question, where are you guys planning on playing?
Pretty much a bar band. I know one place I won't play again (I won't mention the establishment's name here). The owner was great but the place was a shoe box and we could barely fit the band. We'd be pretty much open to anything, though.

Been there done that. We kept two setups on hand so we could fit the smaller places. We'd sometimes use our Gallien-Krueger monitors for a PA in a few situations. I still have my old 100 watt one 12" speaker combo amp from those days. We played one place where our lead singer kept having to fall/jump off the stage.
What clubs and bars still have live music these days?
Anything you can find. I like to play once a month or so to keep interest up and the bars packed. There are local places, you just have to know where to look.
