I'm the total opposite and probably would get along just dandy with the clothes on my back and a suitcase so this show blows my mind....I know it's a mental illness but what a strange manifestation....the garbage, the smell, the chaos and loss of living space is so abnormal but these people all seem so out of touch of how bizarre it is.....
My elderly mother is a hoarder at a very low level. We blamed her "keeping things" on a depression upbringing and when it came time to clean out the family home, it took dumpsters to empty it....we were being picky at first; by the last week, it was heave-ho time.....
Her little home now? Stuffed full of things but not as bad....
No wonder I throw away anything that's not nailed down in my house
