Exactly, and that's why I use the true community (city, village and hamlet) borders, which, with one exception, are different from the same-named ZIP Code postal zone; and, that's why Walmart is in East Massapequa, not Massapequa, and in East Farmingdale, not Farmingdale.
NYS Geographic Glossary and Excellent Long Island Geographic Resource may be of some help to you in understanding the geography of "Lawn Guyland".

Hempstead Turnpike and Carl Avenue is in Garden City South ("Franklin Square, NY 11010" mailing address).
The Hamlet of Franklin Square and the Hamlet of Garden City South are two separate communities in the Town of Hempstead, Nassau County.

No, you've got it backwards:
If you want to send a letter to a place located at Hempstead Turnpike and Carl Avenue, you would address this letter to "Franklin Square, NY 11010"; however, if you want to actually go to Hempstead Turnpike and Carl Avenue, you would go to Garden City South.

Naw, just trying to clear up the geographic mess that the USPS has created with their non-conforming ZIP Code postal zones.
