Default Science Bowl Error?

This is obviously some kind of error. It is not possible for Farmingdale to have students capable of competing against some of the top schools on LI. Farmingdale has horrible schools with horrible people. Students by their senior year are just learning that 2+2=4. They must have cheated.

More likely though, is that people who think they know an area, or school district, really don't know as much as they think.

Farmingdale took first place in the Science Bowl, its first victory in the 20-year-old competition since its team was founded just three years ago. It defeated Half Hollow Hills High School West, which had placed second last year, and Ward Melville High School, which had won five of the last six Science Bowls.

'Science Bowl'
There are kids from Bellport and Central Islip and Riverhead that attend Ivy League schools. Discussions about school districts are largely based on averages and means...statistics, not on anecdotes.

If you sent Albert Einstein to Wyandanch High School, he'd still get into a good college..his life would be hell and he'd have his lunch money taken from him every day, but he'd still be okay over the long haul.
