Hello,

I am a single woman in my 30's moving to Long Island due to work opportunity and a bit apprehensive after NYC life, I was wondering what are the consensus about the better areas where young single professionals live and which would be conducive for a decent cosmopolitan living, Thank you you beforehand for your input,

As Llama8 said, Long Beach is great for singles if you want to live in Nassau County. If you were thinking of Suffolk I would recommend Huntington Village area or Port Jefferson Village. All three of these towns have a decent night life if you're into bar hopping plus they are on the water.

Long Beach. Multi-million dollar condos with single men. Look no further.

I wouldn't consider any areas on Long Island decent for 'cosmopolitan living'.
Young professional singles are far and afew on LI.

I'd give second thought to some of the nicer Queens neighborhoods if it's not a monster commute to work. Forest Hills and Bayside are nice communities where young singles live and you can still work easy on LI.

Single men, yes...most under 25...or players.

Don't move to Long Beach. I am younger than you (28) and it's very very young. If you are looking for an actual relationship and not "play" don't move to LB.

Rockville Centre is your best bet.

Another vote for Huntington...

I don't get the thinking on Rockville Centre?
