Does anyone know how to commute to NYC midtown faster from Mineola but not LIRR which is too expensive. Is there express bus from midtown to Mineola and from Mineola to midtown? Like there are express bues from brooklyn to manhattan. Currently I am taking LI bus and transfer to trains, which is very time-consuming.
You won't get cheaper than the bus and you won't get faster than the LIRR. The best you can do is drive into Queens and park somewhere for free and take the bus from that point. That might speed up the process.
You cant have both... You can take one of the Nassau buses into Queens and than the subway from there... like 2.25 but it would not be faster at all... Defintley cheaper... There is an express J, I think, From Jamaica but that goes to downtown around Wall Street...
I lived in Mineola for 4 years. You can catch the N22 from Hillside or N24 from Jericho Tpke to 179th Street. This is a free transfer so for $2.50 you can get into Manhattan. Second option take either the N22 or N24 to Hillside/Francis Lewis. Pay the step up fee of $3 and catch the X68 express bus.
depends where your going. Check the NYC MTA bus schedule and you can figure it out
