Blondes in Yukons! One of my friends is a blonde with a Yukon, but she's a pretty good driver. She doesn't have any kids, so does that exempt her from the rule?

All depends -- is she natural or bottle blonde?

So... why does she have a huge car then?

She has 6 pet dogs and a pet husband, all of whom like to take rides in the car!

My guess is natural but she made it a little lighter. (Although I don't know for sure if the curtains match the carpet. We're not friends that way!)

That's one of the many reasons people buy bigger cars (SUV/minivans). Nobody is saying they bought it JUST because it's safer. Along with size comes practicality even if it is less fuel efficient. Trade-offs but you can throw 3 kids in there and still have room for 2 or 3 more or whatever gear. Even if they don't use it now they can always grow into it. Would you spend $30-40k on a 4-seater and hinder yourself on purpose or if you had an opportunity spend the same $$$ and allow more flexibility? People buy things for various reasons and they don't have to justify it to anybody. If you want to big brother your neighbors or have them do it to you, there are a few countries you'd be happier living in.

I wish Ford still made an Excursion so I could downsize! My doggie car is a Ford F350 quad cab, long bed turbo diesel dually. Makes Hummers and Excursions look small, but gets surprisingly good mileage.

I have a Diesel Excursion (I have a V-10 Excursion as well), but F350s don't exactly look big next to me. I have a 4" lift on the diesel and a 6" on the V-10. Unfortunately, I can't say we get good mileage in either one, which is why we also have a Prius. Although I will admit, your F350 is next on my "WANTS" list.

Wanna swap? LOL

I have to ask the DH the size of the lift but I would guess 6" to help with the clearance for the tractor trailer tires and wheels on it which raise it even more. It is just shy of 3' longer than the 05 Excursion, with the lift and wheels it stands rather tall next to stock Excursions. Your set up would probably bring it up closer to my eye level.

I love being on the ferry and getting some macho Hummer type next to us. I peer down and tell them how cute their little Hummer is. Does that make me an obnoxious Long Island driver?

Trying to keep on topic hahaha
