East Meadow Natural Gas (house, propane, radio) - City-Data Forum

HI everyone. I finally in contract for my first house located in East Meadow... Everything is perfect for the house but NO Natural Gas... I do not know if the street has the gas pipe or the near by street has it.. the house is on Longfellow Ave. Any one know? any ideas? Thank you.

call National Grid (877-696-4743)and give them the address. they can look that up for you. I think if there is a line within 100ft of the house they will run it for free. if it's more than 100ft they charge you per foot after 100. There were some ads on the radio for heating units also at a discount.

thank you so much for the info and i was told the gas line is 2200 ft away from the house.. so i guess i cannot get natural gas in my house. i was told by my friend about the baxi heating units and i can use propane.. anyone uses that with propane? how is it? and how many 100lb propane bottles do you usually use a month during the winter? thanx.
