Default Long Island Suffolk CSAs?

I'm looking for a farm coop that delivers near Northport/East Northport. Are any of you familiar with them, their quality, and price?

Thoughts?

That's great. I was at their website earlier, and it was only showing one drop-off point. Now they are all there, including the ones you mentioned. Great!

I have been a member of their CSA for several years (they have a drop-off in Queens also) and we will be doing it again this year with Huntington pick-up. They have good produce and are nice people. You will get to discover things you might not find in the grocery store. It's a lot of produce so be sure you like to cook and try new things. We love it.

You pay $550 for 27 weeks of produce. Selection has always been good and the stuff is fresh so it stays. Just make sure you like greens (we do!) Before that we had a bad experience with a different CSA but have been satisfied with Golden Earthworm.

That's a great deal -- fresh, organic produce for about $20 a week. This is my year to join.

Redrunner+2 -- what is the most unique or odd produce they have delivered?

You get a wide variety of things and I like it bcs it's a good excuse to try new recipes. One of the things I'd never had before were japanese baby salad turnips. Never had them before the CSA but now I love them! You do get some unusual things but you get a lot of standards as well (carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, lettuce mix, etc) and everything is really fresh. We also now love baby bok choy, kale, chard, and baby arugula.

You can also pay a little extra and get a fruit share as well. My daughter loves the fruit- berries, peaches, apples.
