Default a friend of mine got 3 parking tickets in suffolk....

she told me the VIN # the cop wrote on the ticket was wrong. the last 4 numbers were nothing near what was hers. everything else was right, color, plate # but the vin was wrong. can it get tossed out?

I have no idea. I know that doesn't help much, but this was an interesting post.

Question is, was her violations legit and he just wrote down the wrong VIN? or were her violations bogus + wrong VIN?

well, she forgot to put up her handicap sign and she got one for that and her registration and inspection had expired. she had no idea about her inspection but she couldnt get her reggie done because she was short on funds. all 3 tickets were legit but wrong vin info.

My understanding is if anything is incorrect on the ticket - anything at all - you can get off. She'll have to go to trffic court though.

I love how it's always "a friend" LOL

Well, As someone stated above, I'm sure she will be able to get off (pause) given the mistakes on the ticket.

On the other hand, the judge probably has the last say and since the tickets were valid, she may be stuck.

It's worth a shot trying to fight, but I wonder whether the reg/inspect/missing hc combo will ultimately work against her? Good luck.

All tickets must be 100% correct.

You can fight it in court on a traffic ticket but I doubt the same applies to parking tickets as it is harder to read vin numbers from the outside of a car than reading them off your registration during a traffic stop.
