Price will vary with brand and size. Just Google tankless water heater and there is an abundance of info.

I have one. It cost about $700 for a 115,000btu unit. Installing it in my home was a pain in the a** because my boiler room is half foundation, and half sheetrock wall. But it's in. I haven't compared this years gas usage to last years for determining the savings though.

How many bathrooms will that do? Or does it matter?

1 sink/shower/appliance at a time, but that could be because the water pressure in my house isn't the best. They do have tankless heaters that are capable of running two at a time.
