Ok question for you....

Will you pick hot chocolate in the winters OR cold lemonade in the summers ?

What I mean is that both choices may be good depending on situation and the information you gave us is too less to decide.
Any idea on Taxes ? kids ? commute ?

Taxes are comparable and commute is a bit closer with Babylon. We do have kids that will be using the schools.

Wanted to add, the 1st thing we'd do if we bought the Babylon house is add a 2nd bathroom.

I lived in Babylon Village and I own in 3V.

Really depends where in both communities.
Small school district vs large school district.

Schoolwise I'd opt for 3V.
Bathroomwise I would go for 2 baths over 1

It's really what your preference is with regard to your commute.

I don't really know E. Setauket

I do know Babylon - lived in the Village for 15 years and loved it. And the Village is part of the attraction as is the water. Is that important to you?

Since you seem to be comparing two specific houses, why not take a ride over the weekend and talk to the neighbors in both areas - see who'd be living next to you. Maybe that'll help you decide. I'd hate to live next to people I can't stand Just a thought...
