(JJ LaValle can ya hear me?)

I'm wondering if it makes sense with the overpass now to go Nicolls/LIE/Sag to KP 25a to HV?

Many ages ago, when you were but a wee young lad frolicking in the 3V, the trip from USB to the LIE was very quick -- even during the mass exodus at the end of the USB work/school day. There were 3 lights on Nicolls the entire distance -- 347, 25 and Wireless(?)

I wouldn't want to be doing that run at 7AM now. It was great when the overpass was built at 25, but the light at South Coleman has taken it's place for back ups.

thanks everyone. I figured it would be close to or slightly over an hour. Take a test drive one of these days on 25A (consensus) and see how it goes.

I know all the shortcuts you've suggested. edgewood, rose, most times i even take sunken meadow rd all the way to 25A in fort salonga on way home to Huntington in evenings.

I agree that it will be no less than 45 minutes no matter whether you take 25A or 347 in the AM.

One tip: if you have to leave Huntington Village on a weekday after 4 PM take 25A - it will save you time in the long run.

Here is the situation: We are in contract to sell and haven't found the right house yet. We are looking at two rentals, one in SB and one in Centerport, both through people we know. The one in SB will be less expensive, though if we aren't in a new place in Huntington area by end of summer, the wife (teacher) will have to commute from SB , drop off kids at day care in Huntington, then drive to Dix Hills to work (15 min). And on way home do the same, pick up in Huntington, drive to SB. Seems like alot to handle on a daily basis.

Obviously centerport is the better location, but the SB house is less money and who knows maybe we'll find a place sooner than later, but maybe we won't.

I should have her make the test trip so she knows what she may be up against if we don't find something sooner than later.

How much less? Centerport is nice, it's not like you are locked in anyway (It's only a rental) and you never get the hours of your life wasted in traffic back.
I would easily pay more to live in CP (In your situation).
