It doesn't. But it does automatically signify one isn't "classy".

Also don't judge a book by its cover, I know a guy who is a real estate multi-millionnaire with nice rental buildings in NYC who, when he goes around to see his buildings, deliberately wears "working man" clothing and tells people he's one of the owner's employees and never says he's the owner. A lot of wealthy people do not care about impressing anyone with their appearance and would rather their wealth stay on the down low. Someone like you would ASSume he's "trashy," but the laugh would be on you because he could buy and sell you 1,000 times over.
It's not about impressing anyone. It's about having respect for both others and yourself, so that you don't look like a bum/criminal/homeless person/mental patient and make people turn away in disgust. It's about not getting your picture taken and put on peopleofwalmart.com. People with the rattiest clothes, are typically the ones who waste the most money on clothes. I wore a work shirt last week that I've had for 20 years- and it's still in good shape.

I don't dress myself to gain your respect.

Maybe we should all wear uniforms so we all fall in line.

Then I'll have to assume that you're one of those tattooed Walmart-patronizing slobs.... [I pretty much thought that, anyway]

Actually not a drop of ink on me, though I don't need to justify myself to you anyway. But you thought wrong.

I'm sick of this bias against White Trash. It's blatantly racist and I am highly offended and my feelings have really been hurt. Stop talking bad about White Trash, we are people too.
Stupid racists. God forbid someone called African-American's in the ghetto "black trash".
Enough. If I want to work on my Camaro on my front lawn that's my right, and I can drink any beer I choose.
I am calling the PC police out on this one. It's not fair.

It's scary how much long island has changed in the last 15 years. There's so many trashy and bad areas now, it never used to be like this.

We're clearly on a sinking ship
