Well, I know the houses in Commack are more money. I was tryying to find something affordable and thats bohemia.
475 will do you right in many towns.
If I worked in Bohemia Id look to live east of there.
On the South Id Check out Sayville/Bayport/Blue Point/Eastport
On the Mid Id check out Bohemia/Holbrook/Manorville
On the North Id Check out Stony Brook/Port Jefferson/Mt Sinai/Miller Place/Rocky Point.
With that budget
I saw a new home online for $500K in Holbrook, but they dont tell you what the taxes will be?? whats up with that.. Here a $500K house on a acre has taxes of $5k a year. I live in Southern MD which is bedroom communities, farm land and strip shopping. You have to drive 25 miles for a mall in Annapolis. Homes there for around the same money as here are 30 years older and 2.5 times in taxes.
Anything thats new will be very high taxes. Look for older house for lower tax in most cases.
Look in suffolk though. You get more for your money than buyying in Nassau
