I hated when both my neighbors use to store their boats in their driveways. 9 1/2 months a year I had to look at those eye sores. Now where I live.. leave it in your driveway: 1st night warning, 2nd night summons, 3rd night towed away... just the way I like it! Keep it at the marina not in the driveway! Keeps the block looking ascetically nice..

I dont know if he is a contractor but the sign above the window says something about "haircutting", as if he had a haircutting business there.

I sent it to a friend and he asked what it was all about. I told him they were probably set up to scare away the day laborers!

I agree... I couldn't live in an area with neighbors like that. I don't see any problem with 1 boat in a driveway.

Why? these things ARE eye sores.

But if you can live with these things, then stay away from towns that don't allow them. Pretty simple. No one is forced to live anywhere.

You guys obliviously haven't been on my old block! What a mess

One side of me was an 30 year old 35 ft boat that looked like it should have been in a boat grave yard 20 years ago. It was in such bad condition I can't even start to describe it. Throw a sun faded tarp on top that was covered with green slime and it was totally disgusting!

The other side the guys boat was in better condition but my view was blocked looking out the widow and he was constantly working on it day and night.

With boats in the driveway the big Suv's where always parked in the street and we had no view whatsoever pulling out of our own driveways. My wife use to hit the gas a pray to leave the driveway. One guy would park is car on his lawn because there wasn't enough room with his boat. I guess this is acceptable but I hated it. Love the look of my town 1000x's better now, its so pleasing to the eye

Parking on the lawn is trashy. A boat in the driveway in place of a car, taking up the same space as a car, is not a big deal IMO. If you don't like boats, you probably shouldn't be living on an island.

Wow. Your block definintely didn't sound that nice. I live in Levittown and haven't noticed that at all. A few mini boats/jet skis in driveways here and there. No parking on the lawn. If I were you, I would have complained too.
